Charging infrastructure for battery electric bus operations: evidence from the city of São Paulo
The implementation of battery electric buses in an urban public transportation system implies a systemic change that goes beyond technological substitution. Aspects such as vehicle range, charging duration, and available electrical capacity in garages become central and must be considered in fleet transition planning.
To address one of the main questions of this process, this study investigates what charging infrastructure is needed in garages to support the operation of an electric bus fleet.
